10.17.17 9:05 p.m. The Coast Guard says that it inspected the Los Angeles County beaches near the Getty Oil spill on Tuesday, Aug. 24 after receiving a call about bacteria in the ocean water.

The Los Angeles County Health Services Department says the beaches remain under a high bacteria warning, based on the bacteria found Tuesday at the beach near the Getty Oil spill. Tests found high levels of coliform bacteria in water, suggesting fecal contamination.

At Marina del Rey Beach on South Ocean Boulevard near the Getty Oil spill, Coliform bacteria were found in water, according to the Coast Guard.

The beaches remain closed until further notice.
